So sorry about being late this month!  I’ve been sick with the flu for the last couple of days.  *whimper*  But I’m finally feeling better. ^_^

Ancient prophecies can be things of mystery and legend.  To be involved in a prophecy can take away a character’s ability to ride his or hers own path as the prophecy has already paved that path for them.  Are any of your favorite manga or anime involve ancient prophecies?  The first challenge for this month is for you to write about it.

Wouldn’t it be great to have servants around to do all the cleaning and cooking?  You wouldn’t have to do anything for yourself anymore!  But then, the servants also seem to know all the secrets of the household, and that’s not so cool, LOL.  Do your characters have servants?  Or, are they servants themselves?  The second challenge is to writer about servants.  Enjoy!

23A – Ancient Prophecies

23B – Servants

You have one month to write a story, no more than 300 words, from any anime/manga fandom, for one or both of the above challenge themes.  Submit as many or as few as you’d like.  Please remember to tag your entries with the title of the fandom they are based on.  Enjoy!

Ghosts and ghouls.  Skeletons.  Zombies.  Vampires.  Do the dead really walk the earth?  Do they in your anime or manga?  Do your characters fight them, control them, or ally themselves to them?  Or are they one of them?  Your first challenge for this month of Halloween is to write about them.

A high cackling resounds through the night, a low chanting over a cauldron of bubbling spells, a silhouette glimpsed flying across the face of the full moon.  Witchcraft is one of the oldest religions on earth and makes up the second challenge for this month.  Good witches or bad witches; the choice is yours.  Enjoy!

22A – Undead

22B – Witchcraft

Spiders, traffic, ex-girl/boyfriends, that ****** that killed/ruined his/her family and sent him/her on a path of vengeance.  Hatred is a powerful and consuming emotion that can overtake a character and make him/her do crazy things.  What do your characters hate?  How do they deal with their hate?  Are they able to deal with it at all?  Why not tell us about it?  The first challenge this month is on hatred.

Money is what makes the world go around.  Any world – the real one or a fictional one.  A nice as it is to think of being filthy rich with no monetary cares, such a thing isn’t always true.  Many times, our heroes have to work odd jobs or even work at more than one job to support their activities (or just to put food on the table).  Do any of your characters have to work more than one job?  That’s the theme for the second challenge – second (or third or fourth etc.) jobs.

21A – Hatred

21B – Second Jobs

There are all sorts of things we like to avoid – problems, people, deadlines, etc.  Like I said, all sorts of things.  I’m sure our beloved characters try to avoid things to, when they can.  Of course, as we all know, avoiding our issues doesn’t really make them go away – it usually just lets them build up to an exploding point.  What do your characters avoid?  This month’s first challenge is on avoidance.

I’ve been reading a whole lot of manga recently, and I’ve noticed that many of them center around school life; high school and college.  Do your favorite series?  How do your characters deal with parents?  Their parents and their friends’ parents.  Or perhaps they don’t have parents, but there is someone who they look at as a parental figure.  What are their thoughts on them?  The second challenge for this month is parental figures.  Let’s see what you come up with!

20A – Avoidance

21B – Parental Figures

The characters of our favorite anime and manga always get along so well, don’t they?  NOT!  Where would the fun be if they all got along all the time?  So, for those arguments and fights they tend to have, how do they make up?  Your first challenge this month is to write about peace offerings.

Our fearless adventurers and heroes need a break now and then, and what better place than at one of the hot springs?  So many fandoms have them, I wish I did to!  I think I would just spend all my time soaking for as long as I could.  Have hot springs been shown in your favorite series?  What are they like?  Your second challenge is on hot springs.  Enjoy!

19A – Peace Offerings

19B – Hot Springs

Gods, those all-powerful entities that we mere humans have had a tendency to worship and fear throughout the ages.  Sometimes they stay uninvolved in out lives, and sometimes they actively take part in what how we live our lives.  Do they influence your characters at all?  In what way.  Are they good and just, or evil and destructive?  This month’s first challenge is on gods.  What can you come up with to write about with them?

As there are gods, so there are frequently demons.  Of course, sometimes those demons are within ourselves.  What demons do your characters battle with?  Or do your characters, instead, battle alongside the demons, rather than against them?  The second challenge for this month is demons.  Have fun!

18B – Demons
